TECH STRATEGY LEADERS CONTINUING CYBERSECURITY EDUCATION

The objective for our November newsletter is clear and succinct – Tech Strategy Leaders (TSL) continues to stay on the forefront of the latest adoptable processes, technologies, and frameworks all relating to the uphill challenge of the Cybersecurity endeavor.  Here are just some of the ways we are continuing our education, to benefit our clients.

Our partner, Greg Berkin attended the NIST Cybersecurity Risk Management Conference in Baltimore MD this November.  The conference is a continuation of the annual Cybersecurity Framework Workshops, with the addition of the topics and stakeholder groups associated with NIST projects such as Risk Management Framework, Supply Chain Risk Management, and Privacy Engineering.  NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology, agency of US Department of Commerce) is the authority in how organizations, albeit small to large should be approaching cybersecurity efforts.

Our partner, Aaron Kneppar has completed his Cisco CCNA Cyber Ops certification.  This certification is one of Cisco’s newest and highly-sought after certification tracks pertaining to securing technology operations within corporate networks.  This certification requires weeks of instructor-led training, followed up by two separate exams (both of which need to be passed in order to receive the certification).

We can’t stress this question enough to our clients, whether you have 5 employees or 5000, how much risk can you afford?  Will one cybersecurity breach put you out of business?  Remediating a cybersecurity breach will conservatively cost as much as 4 times what a proactive solution may cost.  Smaller organizations are considered “low hanging fruit” for unethical hackers.  Nobody is immune to cybersecurity attacks in today’s connected society.
